Combined Bearing

Combined needle bearings, such as type RAX and its derivatives, are designed to simultaneously support both radial and axial loads. These bearings consist of a needle thrust bearing (or roller thrust bearing) and a needle cage, all retained within a common outer ring.

They form an integral unit, making storage, handling, and installation easier. Their high radial and axial load capacities, combined with their compact size, offer cost-effective solutions. Calculations for combined bearings are performed by separately considering the axial and radial components, without converting the axial load into an equivalent radial load.

Standard Combined Bearings: Type RAX 400 and RAX 500

These bearings feature a thrust plate and an outer ring that are machined separately and joined by a strong metal insert. This design prevents localized stresses and weaknesses between the two components, thereby reducing the risk of damage during mounting or operation.

Standard Combined Bearings: Type RAXPZ 400 and RAXZ 500

These bearings include an integrated thrust plate, which is retained by a steel ring mounted on the thrust plate. This design provides better protection against dust and metal particles, making them suitable for use in the spindles of drilling machines.

Variations: Locking devices include eccentric locking collars and set-screw locking collars. Options for the inner ring include extensions on both sides, extensions on one side only, and bearings with a cylindrical outer diameter.
